BECCA & Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector: Review & Swatches

If you're as much of a makeup lover as I am, I'm sure you've been hearing all about the Becca & Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop. I was curious to try this new Shimmering Skin Perfector (and I also love to support inspiring beauty bloggers), so naturally I snatched one up as soon as possible. Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors are by far my favorite highlighters, and this most definitely includes the limited edition Champagne Pop.
I have never laid my hands on another powder, let alone a highlighter, that is as silky and creamy as this formula. I am usually not a huge fan of using my fingers to apply makeup, but with this formula I cannot resist. The highlighter is technically a powder, but it is so buttery and soft that a label just doesn't do it justice.

The box packaging is an eye-catching bronze color, with faux water droplets on the front and a short message from Jaclyn Hill on the back. The actual product packaging looks just like the rest of the Becca highlighter collection.

Champagne Pop’s light reflecting pearls give the most natural glow to the skin without overdoing it. This product makes you look like a glowing goddess, rather than a disco ball like some other highlighting products. The ultra-fine shimmer makes it the perfect highlight for all skin types, even oily and textured skin. It leaves the face naturally glowingor as Jaclyn would say— “on fleek”.

The color is described as a soft white gold with pinky peach undertones, which makes it the perfect middle ground between Opal and Moonstone. Opal, described as a golden opal pearl, is a bit lighter than Champagne Pop. Moonstone is more of a pale gold. All of these shades can be applied as a blush or bronzer “topper”, or as a standalone glow. Champagne Pop is a super versatile shade, and could really work on any skin tone from fair to dark.

I like to apply Champagne Pop after my blush and bronzer to the top of my cheekbones, as well as any other areas on my face I’d like to add an extra glow or bring forward. Typically with other highlighters, I need to really make sure the light hits my face at a certain angle to be able to see the glow. With this product, that is definitely not the case. Every single time I apply this on my face, I am just as ecstatic as the very first time. To say the least, I am beyond impressed with Champagne Pop. It is safe to say that it has stolen my heart, even more so than my holy-grail highlight, Moonstone.

Remember, Champagne Pop is a limited edition item, so don't wait too long to pick it up. Once you do score one, I'd love to chat about it in the comments below!

  1. I'm curious what you apply this with ... as it is not really a natural look at all. Though I find this is a perfect product for strobing. I love it for that. And it certainly is a stunning highlight. But I have to use the slightest amount with a fan brush, with a very light hand, to achieve nothing short of that heavy glow.
